How Do You Define Natural Beauty?

Special thanks to Walgreens and Dove for inspiring this important message for women everywhere. This is a sponsored campaign through Global Influence, Inc.  All thoughts, opinions and celebration of natural beauty are that of Rural Mom!

How Do You Define #Natural Beauty? #BeautyIs

I believe we have so much to learn from nature, particularly when it comes to beauty.

Can you imagine a world where we saw each other in the same way we view a lovely bloom?  Each flower unique. Always stunning despite any blight, insect damage or other imperfections.

Or saw only what was deep inside our loving spirits in the same way our animal friends do?  My dogs, cats and chickens don’t care whether my hair is perfect or if I have a blemish on my face. Their love by nature is unconditional.

To me, that’s what true natural beauty is.  It’s unconditional.  Not something we can find in a makeup container or popular fashion trend

This is me (above,) unfiltered, no makeup, no embellishments (well, other than the henna coloring on my hair!) and this is one of my beautiful family members, Snowflake, who is always happy to see me, even on a bad hair day!

How Do You Define #Natural Beauty? #BeautyIs

What does beauty mean to you?

Dove and Walgreens are committed to building positive self-esteem and inspiring all women and girls to reach their full potential and acknowledge that beauty is defined in many different ways.

Right now, they are hoping social media can help get the message out by using “selfies” for good and showing the world what #BeautyIs.

It’s super easy to participate and your voice can truly make a difference for women everywhere! Just share what #BeautyIs to you on Instagram or Twitter like this:

Create:

• A self-portrait that captures your natural beauty
• A picture that shows you sharing a positive moment with someone else
• An image that shows you giving back
• A picture that portrays your overall personality

I hope you will join me in this fabulous initiative to show the world what true beauty looks like!

This is so true. We all have our own thing about us that makes us beautiful. I’m happy my family loves me whether I have make up on or not.
