A Delightfully Wicked Family Movie Night with Horrid Henry

Horrid Henry The Movie

If you have a child in elementary school, you’ve likely discovered the Francesca Simon’s popular Horrid Henry book series.

Henry is a mischievous little boy that trouble clings to like a magnet. His adventurous spirit and quirky antics certainly have a way of tickling your funny bone!

Everyone from his little brother Perfect Peter, his neighbor Moody Margaret, his school pals Rude Ralph, Lazy Linda, Aerobic Al, Brainy Brian, their teacher Miss Battle-Axe agree, that Henry is a delightfully horrid boy.  Yet, somehow, Henry manages to instill and learn some valuable life lessons along his misguided way.

Now the adventures have been made into a rambunctious film, Horrid Henry: The Movie – simply perfect for a fun, side-splitting family movie night!

In Horrid Henry: The Movie, Henry has a series of mishaps and fails to turn in his homework, yet again, he sets a curious chain of events in motion, that ultimately has his struggling to save the very school he professes to hate.

It’s 93 minutes of rip-roaring fun, catchy tunes, interesting twists and turns, and a whole lot of mischievous moments that will keep you laughing out loud and on the edge of your seat waiting to see what crazy antic is next.

With some amazing actors at the helm like Anjelica Houston, who plays Henry’s teacher Miss Battle-Axe, the film will keep adults and children alike engaged from beginning to end.

To set the stage for a perfect family night viewing of Horrid Henry: The Movie, we opted to create an especially horrid dessert of “worms in dirt” cups to enjoy… which, as I strive to do for every family night, is super simple to prepare and easy on the budget.

Worms in Dirt Cups
“Worms In Dirt” cups are easy to whip together.  Layer chocolate pudding with crushed chocolate cookies (of your choice)
and add a few sour or sweet gummy worms.

Horrid Henry: The Movie is available in a limited edition DVD which features a non-toxic, upholstery-friendly “slime pack” available exclusively at Walmart stores in the U.S.  We haven’t used our slime pack yet, but my boys certainly have some horrid plans for outdoor fun this spring!
