What Are Your Dirty Laundry Room Secrets? | Wisk Deep Clean Review

The Laundry Room Scoop on Wisk Deep Clean

Did you know that one week of body oils and sweat can fill up a 600ML jar?

I recently learned that startling statistic from the Wisk® Yuck Report’s “Dirty Secrets Revealed:”

Really kinda gross, huh?  Makes you re-think how often you change the sheets on your bed, for sure!

The study also revealed:

  • 1 in 3 women have worn the same bra for several days in a row while almost as many men have worn the same socks or underwear for several days
  • 93% of consumers have odors on at least some of their loads and sweat is the biggest offender
  • Most men and women surveyed go over a month without changing sheet
  • An average load has 20 times more body oils than visible stains, because the average adult can sweat up to two gallons a day

Yikes!

It’s always important for me to keep our clothes and bedding fresh, but after reading about all the yuckies, I’m even more enthusiastic!

So when Wisk offered to send along samples of Wisk Deep Clean With OXI Detergent and Wisk Deep Clean Powerblasts, I jumped at the chance to try them out and up my laundry power! Here’s what I found out:

The average laundry detergents only scratch the cleaning surface; clothes may smell fresh and clean, but what about the stains you can’t see? Wisk Deep Clean goes beyond surface stains because it contains patented Micro‐Cleaners™ that penetrate deep inside fabric to seek out and attack hidden dirt, such as trapped body oils and sweat that most other detergents leave behind.

That’s a pretty great promise when it comes to tackling all of our clothing needs, particularly our linens.  After taking a shower and climbing in bed, the last thing I want to do is re-collect some of the things we tried to wash off, right?

It’s difficult to gauge whether Wisk penetrates any deeper than other detergents as I certainly don’t have a science lab in my home, but it’s easy to see that my clothing came out of the wash with a fresh, clean scent and a noticeable brightness to the materials, a good indicator that the grungy stuff was washed away.

The experts who can tell you a little more about the deep cleaning performance of Wisk are Consumer Reports and you can read their analysis here: http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/news/2013/06/wisk-kirkland-give-tide-laundry-detergent-a-run-for-the-money/index.htm#wisk2013

I love that the Wisk Deep Clean Detergent scent is mild and not over-powering, that’s always a plus for me.  If you’d rather have a non-scented version, they have the Wisk Deep & Clean Free & Pure variety available that is specially formulated with no dyes or perfumes.

Wisk has continued to impress me over the years with their innovation and constant committment ot battling stains and improving our laundry results.  Overall, I’m very pleased with the performance and happy to get the insider scoop!

A whole month or longer before changing your sheets? Eww… I can’t get over that one because I love the feel of fresh, clean sheets. I would love to try out the Wisk deep clean detergent because we all can get a bit sweaty here in the south!

Eeek! I didn’t realize that clothing may have 20 times more body oils than visible stains. That’s really gross and making me want to go around our house to find any clothing that one of my family members was going to try to wear again without washing.
