I have to admit, my air fryer is the least used appliance in my kitchen. Not that I don’t appreciate it’s merits, but we pretty much purchased it for making french fries and rarely do.
Thanks to The Southern Air Fryer Cookbook by Pam and Brittany Wattenbarger, I’ve learned it’s high time I show this handy gadget a little more appreciation!
Who knew you could make deviled eggs using your air fryer? Not me! But I do now and will be giving it a go soon. I’m also looking forward to making “Zucchini-Parmesan Fries” as we have oodles of zucchini popping up in the garden right now.
Pam is a dear friend of mine and I’m always amazed how quickly she comes up with tempting recipes. Along with her daughter, Brittany, she loves to share family favorites and celebrate time-honored traditions.
Throughout the cookbook, Pam and Brittany share family stories or fun facts about each recipe, delivering an extra bit of Southern hospitality and charm. I chuckled aloud when reading her notes about sampling bourbon in Kentucky. The honest take is refreshing and I do have to admit, we Kentuckians are a little possessive of our reserve bourbon!
You’ll also find helpful charts, recipe notes, and advice for making the most of your air fryer throughout the cookbook. The section on air frying times is super helpful.
The Southern Air Fryer Cookbook is chock full of comforting down home recipes to suit every mood. I’m really excited about the “Right Quick Desserts” section. It’s going to be such a treat to make “Brown Sugar Banana Bread” in our air fryer and to try making some fresh fruit cobblers, too.
As the temperatures soar into the 90’s here, it’ll be a blessing to turn off the oven and fill up our plates with classic Southern dishes.
