Setting Sail with the PLAYMOBIL Cruise Ship

I think it’s pretty safe to say that we love cruises. We’ve had such a great time and made so many memories aboard cruise ships. I wish we could go on more! I can, however, share the experience with my granddaughter in our backyard until I’m able to take her on a real cruise. Thanks to our partnership with PLAYMOBIL, we have the opportunity to play with the PLAYMOBIL Cruise Ship together.

The cruise ship isn’t a water toy, but it is fun to play with poolside (just be careful to keep the set a few feet from the pool so the small pieces don’t fall overboard!)

Sometimes when we play, my granddaughter will ask questions about cruises, and I tell her about our experiences. It gives me an opportunity to bond with her as well as get her excited about coming with us some day. As much fun as cruise vacations are, that great big ship can be a little overwhelming to a small person when they walk up to it. I like that the toy gives us an opportunity to think and talk about it before the big trip.

The Cruise Ship is also a fun way to keep the fun from ending after the cruise is over. Kids can re-enact all their great times on the cruise right in their own living room. They can continue to have fun in the sun even in a blizzard! Imaginative play with the cruise ship and its characters is a fun way to keep the memories alive for everyone.

I’ve mentioned before how much I like PLAYMOBIL products, so I was expecting this to be another fun experience, and it definitely didn’t disappoint! I’m always in awe of how much detail the set has – from the tiny computer terminal to the flip flops on the littlest character. PLAYMOBIL left out nothing.

The cruise ship is three levels. The lower deck has guestrooms with beds and a bathroom. Inside the bathroom is a toilet with a lid that goes up and down as well as a vanity with a pull-out drawer. It’s all in the details! That level pulls out revealing a staircase to the upper deck. On the upper deck is the restaurant area with a table, seating, and miniature foods and beverages. There is also a pool area. The top deck has a cute little hardwood floor (shuffleboard, anyone?) and leaves plenty of room for the PLAYMOBIL characters to lounge around while the kids take the slide down to the refillable pool on the level below.

The ship also comes with a mini lifeboat, three adult and two child figures (with removable life jackets for safety!), and other accessories to ensure hours of fun play. As with all of the other sets, there are perfect companion parts to the cruise ship, like the Singer with Stage or the Island Juice Bar.

If you’re a cruise lover like me, I’d say the PLAYMOBIL Cruise Ship is a perfect addition to your collection. You’ll have just as much fun playing with it as the kids do!
