Create an Inviting Entryway to Add Curb Appeal

When it comes to curb appeal, there’s no shortage of things you could do to elevate your home’s appearance. While some measures like a new lawn and exterior paint can be expensive, there are also plenty of cost-friendly options. Updating your entryway, for example, is an inexpensive way to boost curbside appearance. Here are five simple ways to create an entryway that looks great from the street and gives visitors a warm welcome to your home.

1. Window Boxes

If your front door is flanked by windows, one of the easiest ways to dress them up is to add window boxes. Hooks and Lattice Window Boxes come in a wide variety of different sizes and styles so you can choose something that works with your home’s aesthetic. They attach easily and can be filled with seasonal blooms or greenery for a nice touch.

2. Pots

If you don’t have windows near your front door, you can always add pots and planters of different heights. Galvanized pots are very popular because they are easy on the wallet and give off an effortlessly rustic chic effect. They’re also neutral in color and go with just about everything. Fill them with twigs, blooms, or herbs of your choice.

3. Artificial Greenery

If you love the idea of adding window boxes and planters but loathe the idea of taking care of plants, go with artificial greenery. Today’s artificial greens are nearly identical to their natural counterparts and come in just about any style you could want. They also handle outdoor weather like champions and you’ll never have to worry about over or under-watering.

4. Shutters

Depending on your budget, adding shutters is also a great way to update your entryway and add curb appeal. They come in a huge range of materials, colors, and styles, and can be a great way to add a pop of color on a neutral-hued house. If you want to channel the Caribbean, go with Bahama style shutters. If you love a rustic look, board and batten shutters are great options. Don’t be afraid to get creative!

5. Updated House Number

When you moved into your home, chances are that it was already fitted with a less-than-exciting house number. Beauty is in the details, so why not accent your entryway with a modern set of house numbers? There are many sleek and inexpensive styles to choose from, so look for something that complements your household’s style.

These are just some of the easiest and least expensive ways to update your entryway and add instant curb appeal.  Feel free to add your suggestions in the COMMENTS section below!
