Backyard Cleanup Made Easy with RYOBI 2-Cycle Backback Blower

Playing in fall leaf pile
Thanks to RYOBI’s incredible innovations, we are fully enjoying leaf removal this fall with the RYOBI 2-Cycle Gas
Backpack Blower.  We received this product for review but all thoughts and opinions are that of Rural Mom.

Gorgeous hues of red, yellow and orange lining the path, crunching under your feet as you skip through festive fall days.  Leaves are a magnet around our home for stunning visual enjoyment and impromptu play.  Unfortunately they also clog up our gutters, invite bugs to nest near our home and provide an unwanted, matted ground cover that kills our lawn if left to decompose (especially oak leaves.)

If you’ve ever dealt with leaf clean-up by hand, you know how long and labor-intensive that process can be, especially if you opt to move them to a more productive spot (as we do,) rather than bag them.  If you have over an acre to contend with on top of clearing leaves from around your home and from the gutters, it’s enough to induce whimpering from the time the first one flutters to the ground.

We’ve used a corded blower in the past but it’s truly limiting as cords only reach so far.  Any gas and cordless blowers we’ve looked at were always too clunky, too heavy and often too expensive to get the power we needed to get the job done quickly and efficiently.  Discovering the RYOBI 2-Cycle Gas Backpack Blower has been a blessing for this year’s fall backyard cleaning in so many ways!

The RYOBI 2-Cycle Gas Backpack Blower weighs in at a mere 18 pounds, which is distributed evenly with a well-designed contoured shoulder/back harness that also provides ultimate comfort and a custom fit for each wearer.  Less weight and comfortable fit translates into less fatigue, so you’ll have plenty of time to celebrate when the job is done.

Light weight and savvy design do not translate into less power, though.  The RYOBI 2-Cycle Gas Backpack Blower has an extra large 42cc engine that delivers 185 miles per hour blowing force.  We’ve had an excessive amount of rain in our area lately and the blower picked the wet, matted-down leaves up off the ground just as easily as the dry, crumbly ones.

I was surprised not only with the ease of lifting up leaves to move but also by the distance they traveled with each sweep of the nozzle.  And despite the force delivered, the unit doesn’t vibrate excessively or cause any noticeable discomfort to the user due to its innovative design:  the angled nozzle points naturally downward which reduces effort and maximizes clearing power.

RYOBI really thought of everything when they put this beautiful backyard helper together.  The tube tube construction even includes a variable speed trigger and cruise control for easy command.

We’ll be using the RYOBI 2-Cycle Gas Backpack Blower throughout the fall season to remove and gather leaves and to clean out our rain gutters. When winter comes it will be super handy to help clear light snow and to dry off the pavement.  When spring and summer roll around, I envision using it to help clear grass clippings, break up matted grassy areas and and even to help dust off our lawn mowers and farm equipment.  Might even be able to put it to the test in helping to dust out the chicken coop!

We live up against U.S. Army Corp of Engineers forest land and my hubby could definitely use one of these with all of those leaves that collect in our yard in Fall!

I was going to say Bryan would like one of these, but really, I would like it myself. I hate to rake leaves.

This is awesome! We have a huge tree up front that spews leaves for weeks and cleanup is a hassle. This would make cleanup so much easier and probably more fun too.
