Holistic Wellness In 2018: Making Health Happen Now

Once an individual decides that they want to lead a holistically healthy life, the next step should be systematically making lifestyle changes that will promote physical and mental well-being. Below you’ll find just three of many holistic wellness strategies you can deploy to make health happen now:

Holistic Wellness In 2018: Making Health Happen Now

1. Get Off The Sedentary Living Bandwagon.

Research studies confirm that many if not most Americans are currently leading sedentary lifestyles. This mode of living will have drastically negative outcomes on an individual’s mental and physical health. In addition to making people more susceptible to a wide array of diseases that compromise longevity, failing to exercise can lead to weight gain, low self-esteem, and poor posture.

As such, individuals who are serious about cultivating holistic wellness need to hop off the sedentary living bandwagon right now. To do so, consider the value of joining a local running club, yoga studio, or top notch gym where you can attain motivational support and encouragement from other individuals who are committed to exercising regularly.

2. Throw Out All Processed Foods.

Holistic health is about feeling good in your mind and body. Regularly eating processed foods detracts from your ability to feel this way, and that’s why people who are serious about holistic health need to throw out all of the processed foods that are lurking in their refrigerators, cupboards, pantry, etc. In addition to accelerating the weight gain process, these types of foods promote mood instability and a wide range of physiological problems that can hamper productivity in the school and work settings.

Note that throwing out processed foods is only one part of the optimal eating process. Once you’ve gotten rid of all your processed foods, you should replace them with healthier alternatives like dark green leafy vegetables. In addition to consuming items such as kale and spinach, consider the value of eating protein-packed nuts like almonds and cashews.

3. Take A Vacation.

One final holistic health strategy you can utilize to put the mental and physical wellness process in full effect is taking a vacation. Doing so is important because many if not most people are constantly in physical environments that induce or exacerbate their stress levels. This is why periodically leaving these settings and entering environments that promote a feeling of deep relaxation and calm is important. By visiting locations like the Broken Bow Cabins at Beavers Bend, you can enjoy tennis, houseboat rentals, miniature golf, horseback riding, and numerous other activities that promote relaxation, rejuvenation, and release.

Conclusion

Exercising, avoiding processed foods, and periodically taking a vacation are just three of many holistic health strategies that can elevate your lifestyle. Start implementing these life-altering techniques now so that you can lead a more productive, peaceful life!

Doing OK on #1 and #3 Barb 😉 We have been on a working holiday for 7 years, but really did the vacay thing for quite a portion of the trip. As for exercising, we’re talking an hour daily for years on end. Heck; me and my wife hiked for 3 hours today in New Zealand. Toss in 1 hour of deep yin yoga daily and we are golden. Thanks for sharing 🙂
