Saying “good-bye” to allergens in my home with the Honeywell HPA200

I look out my window and everything is so serene and beautiful – trees blooming, a gentle breeze blowing…and…AAAACHHHOOOO! There goes all of that serenity! Spring allergies are no joke around here, so we do what we can to keep them at bay. One of the best ways to do that is to use an air purifier. Recently I was able to try out the Honeywell HPA200 Large Room Air Purifier, and so far, the results are great! While my allergies haven’t totally gone away (I am still outside for a large part of my day) the air purifier is a great tool to help gift me a bit of a reprieve.

I think the best part about this particular air purifier is that it’s portable. I can move it from the family room to the bedroom to the kitchen to the laundry room…whatever room we’re all congregating in is the best room to put it in. Because it has the capacity to clean the air in a large room of the house, it really can benefit the entire family. On the same token, if my husband is at work and the boys are at school, I can bring it wherever I’ll be spending the most time.

The main reason why the purifier works so well is because it’s got a true HEPA filter to help capture up to 99.97% of microscopic allergens 0.3 microns and larger from the air that passes through the filter. It also helps to reduce certain airborne germs and VOCs floating through the air. I don’t know about you, but I definitely want all the germ protection I can get! There’s nothing quite like knowing you’re absolutely going to catch the stomach virus your kids brought home from school. This air purifier actually gives you a fighting chance!

I also like the odor-fighting capabilities. If you’re a family that eats a lot of garlic or seafood, the purifier would serve your kitchen well. Between the carbon activated pre-filter and the HEPA filter, food and pet odors don’t stand a chance. It has 4 cleaning levels, including Allergen, Germ and Turbo Power Cleaning to make sure the air stays fresh, pure, and best of all, less germy!

The ENERGY STAR qualified air purifier is also very efficient. It’s got a Control Panel light dimmer and an auto shut off that lets you set it to 2, 4, or even 8 hour intervals to save on energy. It’s not hard to set either. The easy tap controls make things simpler.

I didn’t think it was possible, but thanks to this air purifier, I love Spring a little bit more this year.

How about you? Do you suffer from Spring allergies as well?
