Cheers to National Grapefruit Month! Ruby Traveler Cocktail

In addition to being the month most associated with all things love and romance, February is also National Grapefruit Month!  Best know for their pink hues, grapefruits are loaded with vitamin C and plum full of pucker-your-mouth sweet-tart taste!  The taste is distinct and offers a great pairing for everything from salads to salmon.  In honor of National Grapefruit Month, we have a lively spin from our friends at the The Traveler Beer Company and Deep Eddy Vodka to help you celebrate!

Get ready to enjoy the essence of grapefruit in a fashionable new way with the The Traveler Beer Company and Deep Eddy Vodka Ruby Traveler cocktail and be sure to top it off with a refreshing slice of grapefruit to seal the delicious deal.  As always, be sure to drink responsibly when celebrating this fab holiday and enjoy the refreshing zing of this crazy-good cocktail.

Creating the Ruby Traveler is super simple, just follow the steps below:

Ingredients

Deep Eddy Ruby Red Vodka
Traveler Grapefruit Shandy
Simple Syrup
Lime Juice
Triple Sec
Ice

Directions

In a shaker glass half-filled with ice, combine one shot of Deep Eddy -Ruby Red Vodka, one teaspoon of simple syrup, and two teaspoons each of lime juice and triple sec. Shake and strain into a pint glass filled with ice.

Fill the glass to the top with Traveler Grapefruit Shandy.

Garnish with a fresh orange or grapefruit slice.

NOTE: Similar to making cocktails with sparkling wine or soda, adding beer to a cocktail adds a slight effervescence and a unique flavor profile that complements other ingredients in the cocktail. The combination of these two leading brands is a perfect marriage this Valentine’s Day either out on the town or at home.
