I love learning about American businesses that are anchors within their communities and give to the greater good of American’s. Such is the case with Community Coffee. I had the privilege of trying four of their ground coffees recently and while I did receive the coffee free of charge; my love of their coffee and support of their community service projects like offering a taste of home cup of coffee to our military are my own.
Community Coffee is a company steeped in history and heritage. The Saurage family started serving coffee in 1919 in Baton Rouge Louisiana and is still brewing today; making it the oldest family owned and operated company in America! The Saurage family strives to produce the best coffee in America by importing, roasting and distributing the highest quality coffee beans in the world.
My husband and I tried all four flavors shown in the above photo. We prefer a dark or medium roast blend in the morning and Community Coffee was a delight to drink! We loved the non-acidic, full-bodied flavor of the premium dark roast, but my personal favorite was the Evangeline dark roast.
Look at those beautiful beans! If you are a fan of grinding your own coffee beans, you will love any of Community Coffee’s blends.
Now that the spring is giving way to summer, you may be ready for an iced coffee. I used Community Coffee Hazelnut medium roast ground coffee to make a batch recently and it was delightfully light and flavorful. Perfect for an afternoon pick me up.
A way to support those who serve our country:
As a family owned and operated company, Community Coffee understands the difference family can make. That’s why their Military Match program is a great partnership with families to support their loved ones who are serving our country.
To date, over 55,000 pounds or 2.2 million cups of Community Coffee have been shipped to active duty military personal since this programs inception!
How it works:
Buy 4 of your favorite Military Match set of four 12 oz. or 16 oz. bagged coffees, or a 18 count single serve coffee and Community coffee will match your purchase and will send all eight items to the APO/FPO or military base address you provide. They will even include a free mug!
This is a great way to honor our men and women in uniform during May- Military Awareness month, or any time of the year! I invite you to learn more about this program and Community Coffee by visiting their website and following them on Facebook or Twitter.
