Don’t Miss One Precious Moment! | Motorola MBP854CONNECT Digital Video Baby Monitor

Motorola Baby Monitor

motorola monitorEven though my babies are now teens, I still have plenty of friends to shop for and still appreciate a great baby product when I see it!. Like the Motorola MBP854CONNECT Digital Video Baby Monitor (Model MBP854HD.)  I had the chance to test out this innovative product and found that it allows you to keep an eye on your precious baby at home and on-the-go using compatible smartphones, tablets and computers.

All baby monitors are not created equal, and you can really find one to suit just about everything you’re looking for, depending on how much you’re willing to pay. The Motorola MBP854CONNECT is affordable (MSRP $299) and chock full of so many great features.  With the free Hubble app on your compatible viewing device, you can receive sound, motion and temperature notifications along with the ability to record video and capture photos of special moments you want to remember and/or share.

My favorite feature is the Wi-Fi connection. It connects to your home network, which makes it a great option for those of us who are very busy moms. If I had this when the kids were smaller, I could go outside and work in the garden while they were napping without worrying they’d crawl out of the crib and get into trouble while I was out there. I also like that the screen is enormous. The monitor has a 4.3 inch color screen with great clarity. You can see your baby (or your baby chicks!) almost as well as you could if you were right in the room with them.

The camera is also easily controlled by a free app, so that even if you leave your most precious possession in the hands of a sitter, you can see what’s going on from a different location altogether. You can pan, tilt, zoom, record, and take snapshots right from the app. The infrared night vision makes it all possible even when the room is dark.

This particular monitor is really nice for moms who have to travel for work or any other reason without their babies. If you have to be away for a few days and really miss your little one, you can simply log in and watch him sleeping soundly just like you would at home. The monitor also has two way communications, so if you’re out shopping and Dad is at home, you can sing that lullaby anyway. (You may want to do this from your car, however, or you’ll risk getting some strange looks from fellow shoppers.)

I jokingly mentioned baby chicks before, but a baby monitor like this is awesome for all sorts of things like keeping an eye on your house when you’re on vacation, watching over a new puppy (and scolding them for ripping up the garbage), and even making sure your teenagers aren’t having wild parties while you’re away for the weekend. I really do wish I had all this technology when my kids were little!

Do you use a baby monitor to monitor something other than a baby? What’s your favorite feature?

This is one of the monitors we’ve been eyeing, thanks for the info, never thought about using it for keeping an eye on our house after the baby is grown, makes me want to get one even more now!

This looks really handy to have for a little one. We are trying to conceive, so hopefully I am in the market for one soon!

Those are great for keeping an “ear” on your baby. Just make sure that they are protected, though. There are some crazy people that can get access and you don’t want them being able to view it!!

What an awesome baby monitor. I will keep this in mind for gift giving. I like the idea of utilizing it for other needs like a chicken coop. We are thinking about getting chicks (your new book is a must read for me!) and this would help us have more piece of mind that the fox isn’t in the hen house.
