Upgrade Snack Time with Boursin Gourmet Cheese!

Boursin Cheese w Pinot

My husband and I are cheese lovers. When we’re shopping together, we can often be found, heads together discussing a new variety of cheese. In a way, you could say trying and learning about different types of cheeses is one of our hobbies, much like going to estates sales are. When Smiley 360 offered to send us some complimentary Boursin Gourmet Cheese, I happily agreed. While I did receive a gift card to thank me for my time, all opinions and love of a good cheese are my own.

Boursin Artisanal Cheese got its start in 1957 in Normandy by Francois Boursin. Francois was inspired by a dish called Fromage Frais (fresh cheese) where guests added herbs and mixed their own special blend.

Being an expert cheese maker, Francois’ recipe became the first flavored fresh cheese to be sold in France and now it’s available in the United States and many other countries.  After reading about this gourmet cheese, I was excited to share it with my husband. I just knew he was going to love trying it.

And I was right, he did love this cheese! Both us enjoyed our special couple time snack upgrade trying Boursin Cheese with a variety of crackers, veggies and fresh fruit. The, creamy, savory flavor of garlic and herbs does become more powerful the more you use. A lesson we learned when trying the stuffed Peppadew’s I’d prepared. We both liked the texture of the cheese, which starts crumbly, but can be spread to a smooth consistency as well.

Boursin Cheese

We paired our cheese crackers (our favorite snack option) with a small glass of chilled Pinot Grigio for a true couple snack time experience. While snacking, we chatted about one day taking a trip to the Gournay region of France where this cheese is revered. We had a lovely afternoon together, all thanks to a new cheese.

There are so many ways you could enjoy Boursin Cheese. You could grab a bagette and some dried Salami. You could smear it on a tortilla and top with fresh cilantro. You could dip Pita chips in it.

This really is a versatile cheese and comes in a variety of flavors including Shallot & Chive, Pepper, (we want to try this flavor next) and Roasted Red Pepper and Garlic. If you want to try a cheese upgrade, I invite you to learn more about Boursin, including where to purchase it by visiting their website.

I always hear Rachael Ray talk about this kind. Too expensive up here in the woods, but I’d love to try it! 🙂

I have seen this brand at the store, but never tried it. Now that I see how creamy and flavorful it looks, I can’t wait to buy some and try it on crackers with fruit and wine.

My grandmother used to put gourmet cheese out when people visited. It has such a refined taste and texture.
