Rural Mom Guide for April #DIY #Farm

This may be “April Fools,” month but there’s no trickery in the details of the important areas to focus on this month.

April is a great month to:

 – find deals on socks, hosiery, women’s shoes, and garden tools.

– snag clearances on dresses, suits, office furniture, and of course, after-Easter candy and goodies.

 – prepare for unexpected frosts by having a plan in place, such as a stack of containers on hand to quickly cover fragile spring plants.

till, weed, and plant as your region allows.

– clean debris from grass and rake away from trees, house, and fence line.

let some fresh air in and spring clean!

take inventory of your summer needs.  Is it time for a new bathing suit?  Are you low on sunscreen, bug repellent, beach towels, or first aid items?  Stock up now to take advantage of coupons and sales.

plan any needed home improvements. Does the barn need painting?  Do the decks need scrubbing?  Gather up supplies and set a date to begin each project.

arrange travel for summer vacation, summer camps, or expected road trips.  Get the jump on deals and availability of select locations before the rush.
