My boys are always on top of getting their snack ready for school the next day. I only wish they were as organized with their homework!
But what they are not as adept with for snack packing is making wise choices. If they could, they'd pile candy bars and potato chips in their lunch box every day to enjoy during snack time at school.
So, to curb junk food choices, I try to find good-tasting products they enjoy that give me a little more peace-of-mind in knowing they are getting some good nutrition in the process. Fiber One Chewy Strawberry PB&J and Fiber One Chewy Chocolate bars have recently caught my attention for this reason (plus, I'm interested in them, too, as I'm always on the lookout for ways to add more fiber to my diet!)
Complete with a peanut butter or chocolate-flavored bottom and yummy drizzle in every bite, (according to the manufacturer) each bar has110 calories or less, contain fiber and calcium, no high fructose corn syrup, and 8 grams or less of sugar. That's a bunch of goodness rolled up into one tasty bar. The only difficulty my children will have with this snack is ensuring they grab some before they all find their way into my lunch box!
