American #Craft Week Essay Contest
ACW has announced its third annual Essay Contest. This year’s essay topic focuses on traditional craft: If you could go to dinner with any traditional American craft artist, living or deceased, who would it be? And what would you like to talk about?
The prize for first place is a $500 gift certificate to the winner’s favorite craft gallery or artist’s studio participating in this year’s ACW celebration. The second-place winner will receive My Journey to Appalachia, a book detailing the story of Ellie Lambert’s life in Brasstown, N.C. The third-place winner will receive the DVD Sing Behind the Plow, a look at Appalachian people and their folk traditions.
