In Love with Baked Beans from Bootleg BBQ

I’m always appreciative of some well-cooked grub… which truly makes me a close genetic match to my grandma as she still has a delightful appetite even at age 95. So, take it from me… if you are in the Louisville, KY area and in the mood for some serious BBQ, Bootleg should be a stop on your journey.

The orginal building (on Bardstown Road) looks like a shed someone tossed up in a field to house tabacco, but if you venture inside, you are in for a serious treat. When they say “made from scratch,” they mean business.

The beans are my new love. I generally get the new twiced baked tators, but brought home a tub of beans with some pulled pork this time and am now hooked. Make some cornbread to go with ‘em and I could live off this stuff.

Now to find a red wine that goes with BBQ beans and cornbread. Blackberry sounds good, but too sweet…
